Be Charitable This Christmas n New Year Season

We all need to love ourselves before we can love others. You must be happy with the person you see in mirror every morning and night. You have to start with yourself before you can change others. Ask yourself, what are the things you can change about yourself to make yourself a better person. Be it changing your behaviour, the way you view issues, become more positive, become a "go getter", work harder, be less selfish, etc. If you love yourself, then others will start to love you more.

At the same time, it is always wonderful when someone thinks of others instead of themselves. I admire people who are able to feel for others. Not just talk about it but do something positive. But I feel that the world has become more selfish and inward looking. People want to become rich at the expense of others. They want to back stab others at work. They want to make use of people especially friends for their own selfish gain. If each person can think of helping others instead of just themselves, the world will be a better place. Help the poor who will be grateful for even $1 they receive to buy a meal or clothes. Donate food and clothes to your neighbourhood charity, to Third World countries or to your neighbour (if they in need of help). Instead, of buying the expensive "IT" bag or 100th pair of shoes, you can give that money to charity. The more you give....the more you get in return. Look at Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Oprah Winfrey, Tiger Woods, and many others. It does not matter if you give $1 or $1 million dollars. You will be a better person by doing that and the person receiving will be happy and it will bring a smile to their face whether young or old.

I realise that the statements I have made are common knowledge, cliches, beaten to death statements by motivational speakers, etc. But why is the world such a scary place to live in? People are killing each other. In the US, there has been a number of "copycat shootings" killing innocent people. Terrorists are blowing themselves and killing other people who value their lives. Children are being abused by paedophiles. Why is all this happening?

The divide between the rich and the poor is getting wider. The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. At the end of the day, if one person out there in World Wide Web can benefit from any of the things I have written, then my purpose for starting this blog has been achieved. If that person can share this with ten others and the ten can share with 100 others the messages I will be writing will be worth it.

Love All Serve All!

Merry Christmas!
